Better than most, there are still a few good mainstream artists, Nas, though not really that mainstream, Common, also not that mainstream either, but yeah Immortal Technique is alot better that 50 cent, Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne and all that crap.

imo though a lot of underground music is becoming less underground.
everyone knows about atmosphere now. they know who slug is etc.
